A Day at the Doc’s

Today is immunotherapy day. Just had the blood work done to check my liver/kidney enzymes to see if I can go through with the infusion. Next is meeting with the oncologist and hopefully schedule the second round of scans. After our appointment, I’ll go back down for the infusion. They are going to try something new. Instead of sitting for an hour with an IV, they are going to give Opdivo through a shot - taken over 2-3 minutes. Not sure about having a needle in my abdomen during that time, but I’m through in under 5 minutes. Well, that wasn’t bad. It was a small needle and stung a bit at first. The nurse slowly pushed the plunger on the syringe over a span of about 3 minutes. Really didn’t feel a thing. Now, I wait for about 15 minutes, then I’m on my way. The NP put in a priority order for the scans to be taken. So hopefully, that’ll be in the next week or two. Tomorrow is a cardiac stress test. It’s just a hurdle to get to an endoscopy to figure out this reflux.Today is immunotherapy day.
